Bernburg/SLK. Preserving, maintaining and developing our regional culture: in 2026, the Salzlandkreis district would once again like to honour those individuals who have made a special contribution to culture. The district would like to publicly thank these men and women and is asking for your help.
Since 2013, the Salzlandkreis Culture Prize has honoured individuals, groups of people or institutions who have shown exceptional commitment to the social, spatial and historical identification of people with their homeland through their artistic and cultural work. Individuals and institutions who live or are based in the Salzland district, or who have a special connection with the district, can be nominated. Consideration is given to the areas of literature, music, preservation of customs and local history, as well as voluntary work, promotion of young talent or personal life's work.
The most recent winners of the Salzlandkreis Culture Prize were the string orchestra "Saitenspiel" from the "Belá Bartók" district music school in Schönebeck and Karin Keller from Klein Rosenburg. The list of all those honoured is much longer and can be found on the district's website.
Who will be new in 2026? All Salzländer are now in demand, warmly invited and should feel encouraged to submit proposals with a meaningful and detailed justification. Photographic and documentary material, press reports, CVs or work samples enclosed with the application will help the Board of Trustees to make a decision. However, the award statutes exclude self-nominations.
The district administration is looking forward to receiving nominations for the 2026 Culture Prize until 30 April, either by post or digitally, at:
