Wipper cycle path

The Wipper Cycle Path runs for around 35 kilometres along the Wipper from Sandersleben to Bernburg, where the river flows into the Saale. It connects several villages in the Salzland district and is part of the regional cycle path network with a connection to the Saale cycle path.
The route leads through a varied landscape with wide lowlands, idyllic riverside areas and typical villages. Along the way, sights such as the medieval Freckleben Castle, Aschersleben, the oldest town in Saxony-Anhalt, or Bernburg with Bernburg Castle and a fantastic view over the Saale invite you to linger. The cycle route also runs through a varied cultural landscape with fields, meadows and small wooded areas. Rest areas and catering facilities in the villages along the route complete the infrastructure.
The Wipper cycle path can be used all year round and offers a good opportunity for active recreation in the Salzland district. It is mostly family-friendly and offers connections to other tourist routes, including the Saaleradweg in Bernburg. This means that the tour can be extended to suit individual requirements.
