Apply for an environmental impact assessment
Service description
For a wide range of projects and plans where significant environmental impacts are anticipated, an environmental impact assessment (EIA) is required as early as the planning stage. These include, for example, motorways, trunk roads, railways, waterways, dykes, sewage treatment works, landfill sites, high-voltage power lines, industrial estates or facilities, and intensive livestock farming.
This procedure involves investigating, describing and assessing the impacts on people, animals and plants, water, soil, noise, air, climate, cultural heritage and property, as well as the interactions between these factors. The cross-media assessment and evaluation of a project’s environmental impacts must be taken into account in the authorities’ decision-making process.
