Apply for a licence for the non-commercial manufacture of weapons
Service description
If you wish to manufacture, process and repair weapons or ammunition without making a profit, you require a non-commercial weapons manufacturing licence.
The firearms manufacturing licence is limited to the firearms or types of ammunition applied for.
To apply, you will need a passport or identity card, a certificate of competence and proof of knowledge of materials, production and ballistics.
Procedure
You can obtain a non-commercial firearms manufacturing licence as follows:

Please contact the firearms authority in your district. If you live in Dessau-Roßlau, please also contact the firearms authority.
If you live in Halle or Magdeburg, please contact the respective police department.
Prerequisites
You may be issued a non-commercial firearms manufacturing licence if you
- do not want to make a profit
- wish to manufacture, process or repair firearms or weapon parts
- are 18 years old (under 25 with a certificate)
- Reliable and personally suitable within the meaning of the Weapons Act (WaffG) are
- have a certificate of competence
- provide proof of knowledge of materials, manufacturing and ballistics
- be able to provide proof of storage
