Auctioning food and perishable goods in the travelling trade

If you want to auction goods commercially, you generally need a so-called auctioneer's licence. This is linked to special requirements.
If the products to be auctioned are foodstuffs and other perishable goods and you wish to auction them in the travelling trade, you can apply for an exemption.
Perishable goods quickly lose quality. These include, for example
- fresh fruit
- Vegetables
- Fish and meat
- Dairy products
- Flowers and plants
If food and goods would spoil or lose quality without the auction, the competent authority can grant you an exemption from the auction licence.
To auction perishable products in the travelling trade, you need a travelling trade licence. This authorises you to operate commercially outside your branch.
