Into the classroom with Tom and Sarah
When the doorbell rings at primary schools in Salzland, Tom and Sarah are there. At least in the primary schools in Bernburg, Könnern, Aschersleben, Hecklingen, Staßfurt, Schönebeck and Sachsendorf, among others, which have already included their free copies of "Our Salzland District - On the Road with Tom Sarah" in their lesson plans. In it, third and fourth-graders find all the important information about their home district, its history and special features, the places and their people - packaged in a clear and entertaining way.
The children Tom and Sarah also live among us. Together with their parents and grandparents, they used the holidays to explore the district, asking and answering lots of interesting questions. And they left a few more unanswered so that they can be discussed in science lessons. The teachers, who had already gained their first practical experience of working with the Salzland district's new non-fiction book, assured the children that some of the questions were also suitable for use in secondary school.
Primary and secondary schools in the Salzland district use the lovingly illustrated book "Unser Salzlandkreis - Unterwegs mit Tom und Sarah" (Our Salzland district - On the road with Tom and Sarah) in their lessons. The Salzland district provides it free of charge thanks to the financial support of the Sparkasse foundations.
