Our services for you
- Inspection of old municipal records (in accordance with the terms of use) from the 18th century onwards for the former districts of Bernburg and Schönebeck
- Use of the district register for research into family history, for example
- Preparation of copies and notarisations of your specialist documents from the 1970s to 1990, which are stored with us in duplicate.
- Preparation of copies and certifications of your school leaving certificates - stored in our interim archive. We do not store all of these. You can find a list of these in the following list. If your school is not listed, we will be happy to help.
Archive library
The archive library of the district archive is a reference library and serves both archive users and the staff of the district archive for supplementary research. The library can be consulted in the archive's user room. Loans are also possible in exceptional cases. In addition to literature on local and regional history, the collection also contains encyclopaedias and law books.
Newspaper collection
The final archive of the Salzland district has an extensive collection of regional newspapers from the three old districts of Aschersleben, Bernburg and Schönebeck (Elbe) dating back to 1898, including local daily and weekly newspapers as well as magazines and church newspapers. We would like to point out that some of these may only be individual copies of newspapers.
To give you a better understanding of our holdings, we create ARCHIVALIA OF THE MONTH.
